You will have the option of taking a tour with an official Louvre tour guide or you can hire your own and reserve a time slot to visit the museum together. An important note: to qualify as a group you must have a minimum of seven people and a maximum of twenty five. We’re sharing more expert tips on Paris museums in our free Paris Museums guide! Louvre management is very clear in saying that if you don’t arrive within your allocated time slot, you will have to get in line to get new tickets! GOOD TO KNOW: Tickets to the Louvre via the official website can be bought up to two months in advance. The Louvre is an exceptionally popular attraction. Which is why, from the 1 st August 2019, visitors are required to pre-book a time slot for their visit. Simply book when collecting your Pass at the Paris Pass Redemption Centre, or through this link. It costs about €17 (around $19), and you can buy tickets through the Louvre’s website. Almost every time slot through the end of October is already gone, so it’s good that the show is on view for.
I just booked a timed entry slot for the Louvre on October 2 at 5:00 p.m. (because of the hoopla about the Pass not guaranteeing entry to the Louvre.) Wondering if I did it right.
We will be purchasing a Paris Museum Pass when we get to Paris--it's still worth it for us because of all of the other things it will cover that we want to see. When I booked our timed entry just now, I checked the boxed saying I have the PMP (Paris Museum Pass), even thought I won't be purchasing it until we arrive in Paris. My question is: They did not ask for a Pass identification number or anything--I did not see anything requiring this. I was able to set up my account and the final order clearly showed a zero dollar amount for reserving the timed entry, simply because I checked the PMP box.
I was able to print out the receipt that says we have our reserved time slot, so it all seems good to go. But earlier posts on this topic indicated that I would need to enter some kind of Pass identification number (or whatever you call it). Just hoping these time slots will be valid. Anyone done this same thing?
